Drs. Syed Sikandar & Saiyeda Madad
Anjuman Wazifa
Dr. Madad had an unshakeable conviction in the importance of higher education for the youth of the community and for that very reason he became part of the team that laid the foundations of the Anjuman Wazifa in America in late 1980s. His conviction was not only in words only but he remained its largest single donor to the Anjuman Wazifa. He also served as the President of Anjuman Wazifa for two terms.
He had a firm belief that every child in the community should be provided means to excel in education and should be enabled to maximize his or her professional and economic potential. Higher education is the only weapon for the community to withstand the challenges of time.

His vocation as a doctor was inspired by a desire to help those in need. Dr. Madad was committed to providing health services and humanitarian aid and relief to underserved communities around the world. Embodying the ethos of the Qur'anic verse: And whoever saves one life – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.
Dr. Madad was a key donor and supporter of Imamia Medics International and its cause. He had served on IMI's highest forum, the Global Board of Regents for two consecutive terms. Dr. Madad was an integral part of IMI's first delegation to Iraq in 2009. He had been part of IMI's first delegation to Nepal in India, which was our 2nd International Conference, IMI Millennium Conference in 2000. Dr. Madad also traveled with IMI to our Iran Conference in 2000.

Dr. Madad was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a rare neurological disease that progressively impaired his movement and function. Currently, there is no cure for ALS and no effective treatment to halt, or reverse, the progression of the disease.

To continue the good works of Dr. Madad his family funds the digging of deep water wells in Northern Pakistani villages. Each well supports 100 to 250 people or 15 families.
